- Slim is a reference to rap artist "Eminem" Marshall Mathers' alter ego, "Slim Shady". The name of the NPC, when read aloud with title, is "Slim Shady Dealer". The full name is also an anagram of "De real Slim Shady", a reference to Eminem's hit song of the same name.
- Slim sells additional goods not traditionally sold by a Shady Dealer, making it very likely that his title of "Shady Dealer" is only to further this reference. Although he denies this saying: "I am not Slim nor Shady, I find usage of this term an insult".
