- "Strange winds blow in from another world, and sightings of odd, bag-holding creatures spot the land... Find them, and see what treasure they may hold!"
A Greedy Emissary was a world event celebrating the launch of the most recent installment in the Diablo franchise; Diablo IV. The event will last three weeks, running from May 25 - June 14, 2023. The event will be followed up by Welcome to Sanctuary.
During the event, the Demon Portal will spawn with the yellow portal icon on the map and will last for 5 minutes which then the Treasure Goblin spawns which will appear on the map as the maldraxxi abomination icon. There is no loot lockout or minimum level requirement and the icon will only be visible if the player is in that zone (i.e. being in the Waking Shores will prevent seeing if the spawn is in the Azure Span or one of the capital cities).
The spawning location varies based on the hour:
- Every odd hour: Orgrimmar
- Every even hour: Stormwind
- Every half hour: Rotation between each zone of the Dragon Isles (Azure Span → Thaldraszus → Valdrakken → Waking Shores → Ohn'ahran Plains)
