While very similar, this ability is technically not a damage over time (DoT) effect. This can affect certain game mechanics.

Patches and hotfixes

• Patch 6.2.0 (2015-06-23): Now deals only 75% of normal damage against player-controlled targets.
  
• Hotfix (2014-11-03): Damage from A Murder of Crows can no longer be dodged.
  
• Hotfix (2014-10-17): Damage increased by 80%.
  
• Patch 6.0.2 (2014-10-14):
  • Duration, cost, and cooldown have been reduced by 50%.
  • It no longer has a shorter cooldown when used on low health targets. Instead, its cooldown is reset if the target dies.
    
• Patch 5.4.0 (2013-09-10): Now deals 40% more damage.
  
• Hotfix (2012-10-16): Murder of Crows will now properly break Freezing Trap once damage is dealt.
