Talk to Saezurah:
- It is time for these crypts to sing with music of creation.
- Let's begin the ritual.
- The Automa Scryers around the room stop their channeling and float up onto the central platform, spreading out evenly around the Vessel at the center and starting to channel on it.
- Saezurah says: The chorus assembles. The vessel awaits. Your voice must join them.
Interact with the Vessel to begin a long "Activating" cast.
- Saezurah says: Dissonance... a melody lost long ago...
Dreadlord interference
The Darkseer Corrupter
Upon finishing the cast, the player automatically switches to starting to cast "Stabilizing". However, an interference appears:
- The Automa Scryer floating between Saezurah and Firim turns into a Darkseer Corrupter. A ghostly image of Argus the Unmaker briefly appears on top of the Vessel.
- Pelagos says: Something is interfering with the ritual!
- The Corrupter launches several bolts of red magic at the Vessel.
- Darkseer Corrupter says: Long have we awaited this moment. The Banished One's gambit made manifest...
- The Corrupted keeps launching more bolts and the image of Argus appears again and again.
- Darkseer Corrupter says: A world-soul twisted by Death. A maul with which to crush the Arbiter...
- The cast finishes. An explosion of magic occurs, knocking the player back, killing the Automa Scryers, and incapacitating Pelagos, Kleia, Saezurah, and Firim. The Vessel lies broken at the center, and above it stands the Echo of Argus.
- Darkseer Corrupter says: And now it shall take this vessel! Argus will be Eternal!
- Darkseer Corrupter says: <Evil laughter.>
- His job done, the Corrupter dies.
Echo of Argus
Soul Conduit
The Echo of Argus has a monstrous amount of health, but neither his melee attacks nor his avoidable Cone of Death and interruptible Growing Hatred abilities do much damage. In addition, at 95% health he casts Unmake, making him near-immune to damage until the spawned Soul Conduit has been destroyed. The player gets advice on what to do:
- Kleia says: Argus draws energy from that Soul Conduit... Maw Walker, you must destroy it!
Destroying the Conduit frees either Saezurah, Firim, Kleia, or Pelagos, whoever is closest. They then join the battle and afflict Argus with a stack of Unified Assault:
- Unified Assault — Damage taken increased by 25%.
At 75% health, Argus casts Unmake again.
- Kleia says: Again Maw Walker, destroy the conduit!
The aftermath
Nadjia, Korayn, Aliothe, and Mevix
Destroying the Second Conduit lets another ally join the battle and adds another stack of Unified Assault. The process repeats at 45% (three stacks) and 15% (four stacks). Kill Argus:
- Echo of Argus says: Is it... over?
He disappears in a burst of magic, leaving only the broken Vessel at the center.
- Saezurah says: The song... is silent.
- Nadjia the Mistblade, Hunt-Captain Korayn, Droman Aliothe, and Secutor Mevix run into the chamber.
- Secutor Mevix says: Maw Walker! What happened?
Firim has new gossip text:
- This is not good... we do not have time for this setback.
As does Kleia:
- This is a tragic turn of events!
And Nadjia:
- I regret not arriving sooner.
