Animacone

Animacones are seeds that grow on celestial trees in the groves of Ardenweald in the Shadowlands. They contain condensed anima that is used to feed wildseeds. They are also the basis for the hearts of dream trees as well as the  [Vessel of Ardenweald] needed for the Crest of Ascension. They can also be used to create functional illusions by faeries, such as those created for the Star Lake Amphitheater performances.

In Heartwood Grove, a lot of animacones was lost and stolen by the masked fae, but some were recovered. Similarly in the Heart of the Forest, spriggans stole a huge store of animacones.

Notes

• While souls give part of their anima to Ardenweald to take soulshapes and that animacones fall from the boughs of the dream trees to the ground and collected by ardenmoths,faeries, and other night fae, it is not clear if this accounts for all the anima coming into Ardenweald.
