Ansid the Mechanic is an abomination of the House of Constructs who defects to the Necrolord Covenant during the Necrolords Campaign.
Biography[]
Ansid toiled on a new necropolis for the House of Constructs for ages. He was part of the Construct scavenging crew who traveled to Nurakkir, the crashed necropolis of the House of Eyes, to salvage parts from its wreckage. However, when he criticized the other Constructs' reckless scavenging methods, he was promptly locked up in a cage. Baroness Vashj sent Maw Walkers to recruit him, and he agreed to join them as a mechanic if they freed him by getting the key to his cage from Toc the Incessant.[1][2] He subsequently helped the Eyes take control of Nurakkir by joining them in killing the Constructs' head gutter Gorgantus.[3]
Ansid participated in the Eyes' mission to infiltrate the Ossein Foundry and take control of the House of Constructs' own necropolis, the Zerekriss. The plan was for him to distract his former Construct allies with a few explosions,[4] but he ended up being captured by the foundry's guards and had to once again be rescued by the Maw Walkers before the group could proceed with their plan.[5] The Eyes used some of the explosives Ansid had kept on his person to kill the foundry's overseer Enforcer Borgulla and capture a mooring platform from which they could access the Zerekriss.[6] Once the necropolis was under the Eyes' control, Ansid stationed himself aboard it to serve as its mechanic.[7]
