In an alternate timeline where Thrall died as an infant, Aedelas Blackmoore's personal army conquered Lordaeron, during which King Terenas was killed. Arthas Menethil was too young to fight and fled to Stormwind with his friend Varian Wrynn. He married Jaina Proudmoore, and they had a sole son, Uther Menethil, apparently named in honor of Uther the Lightbringer.
Taretha Foxton speculated that since Aedelas vanished, Arthas and Varian have spies in Lordaeron and learned about Aedelas's sudden disappearance. She thought that they were planning to strike on Lordaeron.[1]

Since Aedelas took over the Kingdom of Lordaeron after the Battle of Blackrock Spire and Uther the Lightbringer was killed, it's unknown if Arthas made it into the Order of the Silver Hand.
