In the RPG[]
Azore Aldamorthas[1][2] was a human archmage who managed to keep the naga away from a massive, sealed tower that was probably created by the Highborne. While he was interested in the tower, he was more concerned with a missing artifact — the Scepter of Light. According to Azore, legends said the scepter was powerful enough to sink entire cities. He believed the warlocks at Thunder Axe fortress had it.
Azore Aldamorthas asked some heroes to retrieve the Scepter of Light from the Thunder Axe Fortress. While the scepter was guarded, the more difficult part of the mission was returning the scepter to the archmage; the scepter was intelligent, and it compelled the user to return it to its master — a long dead Highborne elf in the ruins now known as Dire Maul in Feralas. The heroes fought the intelligence of the object and returned it to Azore. He then asked them to accompany him to Dire Maul to show the object the truth about its former master. Once the scepter had been shown the ruins, the heroes found the master’s spirit, who released the object and allowed Azore to claim it.[1][2]
