Bane is a Tier 1 Destruction warlock talent that reduces the casting time of key damage spells in the Destruction tree: [Immolate], [Shadow Bolt] and [Chaos Bolt].

Notes

At max rank, Immolate's base cast time will be 1.5 sec, Chaos Bolt will be 2 sec, and Shadow Bolt will be 2.5 sec.

This talent is a nice boost to Immolate and Chaos Bolt, but has a much greater effect on Shadow Bolt. It works out to slightly more than 20% increase in DPS when spamming Shadow Bolts.

Patch changes

• Patch 5.0.4 (2012-08-28): Removed.
  
• Patch 4.0.1 (2010-10-12): Moved from tier 2 to tier 1. No longer affects Soul Fire.
  
• Patch 1.8.0 (2005-10-10): Now reduces casting time of the Soul Fire spell in addition to Immolate and Shadow Bolt.
