A Big Crate of Salvage contains random items, including Bind on Equip epic gear and gear that (for varying reasons) was previously unobtainable.

For players that have a Level 3 Salvage Yard in their Garrison, these crates have a random chance to be awarded upon successfully completing a follower mission.

Notes

The container has a very low chance to contain a world drop that was either removed in Cataclysm, or never properly made available to players.

• Patch 7.0.3 (2016-07-19): No longer obtainable. Replaced with  [Large Crate of Salvage].
  
• Patch 6.2.0 (2015-06-23):
  • Now has a chance to be awarded for completing follower missions, down from guaranteed.
  •  [Raw Scrap] has been added, replacing random vendor trash.
    
• Hotfix (2015-01-09): Big Crate of Salvage now stacks.
