Blessing of Kings Paladin ability 30 yards yd range 6% of Base Mana Instant Places a Blessing on the friendly target, increasing total stats by 10% for 10 min. Players may only have one Blessing on them per Paladin at any one time.

Blessing of Kings is baseline Protection spell learned at level 20.

Greater Blessing of Kings

Paladins also have Greater Blessings, which includes a [Greater Blessing of Kings] which can be learned (purchased) from the Class Trainer. Each Greater Blessing affects all players of the targeted class within your party or raid and lasts for 30 minutes (as of patch 2.2).

Each Greater Blessing you cast requires the reagent  [Symbol of Kings] which can be purchased at any reagent vendor.

Notes

• Blessing of Kings applies its bonus to stats after all other buffs and auras on the target are added, making the cumulative effect potentially greater than any other class buff.

• Blessing of Kings is not as effective as it was before TBC; gear then mainly boosted primary attributes: strength, agility, intellect, spirit and stamina. Itemization since TBC emphasizes secondary attributes such as attack power, critical strike rating, and spell damage, which are not directly improved by Blessing of Kings.

• In PvE, it is still the most wanted buff for tanks. For healers, it comes after [Blessing of Wisdom]. Most DPS probably want [Blessing of Might] or [Blessing of Wisdom], which makes Blessing of Kings the second blessing.

• In PvP, it is usually the best blessing for any class, as having high stamina is vital in surviving enemy players' attacks.

• Friendly boss characters (like capital faction leaders and the 2 generals in Alterac Valley, Vanndar Stormpike and Drek'thar) are immune to Blessing of Kings, perhaps because the added bonus would be too strong on those NPCs.

• Since this blessing has only one rank, it's possible for a low level (20+) paladin to give this buff to random level 80 players while retaining the same level of usefulness - unlike, for example, [Blessing of Might].

Cataclysm

This section concerns content related to Cataclysm.

Blessing of Kings and  [Greater Blessing of Kings] will no longer boost Spirit with Cataclysm.

Patch changes

• Patch 3.1.0 (2009-04-14): Is now trainable at level 20 and provides a 10% bonus to all base stats. Removed from talent trees along with [Improved Blessing of Kings].
