Blinding Light is a paladin class talent, causing the paladin to instantly emit a flash of blinding Light which disorients all nearby enemies within 10 yards.

It is an exclusive choice node with Spell holy prayerofhealing [Repentance].

Patch changes[]

  • Dragonflight Patch 10.1.0 (2023-05-02): Duration decreased to 4 seconds in PvP combat (was 5 seconds).
  • Dragonflight Patch 10.0.7 (2023-03-21):
    • Moved to row 4 (was row 3).
    • Blinding Light will now be removed from the target if they suffer Holy damage. Spell holy innerfire [Consecration] damage will continue to not break Blinding Light.
  • Dragonflight Patch 10.0.0 (2022-10-25): Now a row 3 class talent (was a level 30 talent).
  • Shadowlands Patch 9.0.1 (2020-10-13): Now available at level 30 (was 45).
  • Battle for Azeroth Patch 8.1.5 (2019-03-12): Mana cost reduced by 25%.
  • Legion Patch 7.2.5 (2017-06-13): Blinding Light no longer deals damage.
  • Legion Patch 7.0.3 (2016-07-19): Now also deals damage. Cooldown reduced to 1.5 minutes (was 3). Now available at level 45 (was 30).
  • Warlords of Draenor Patch 6.0.2 (2014-10-14): Replaced Ability paladin turnevil [Evil is a Point of View] as a level 30 talent (was a level 87 ability).
  • Mists of Pandaria Patch 5.2.0 (2013-03-05): Now has a 1.8-second cast time for Holy Paladins. It remains instant cast for Retribution and Protection.
  • Mists of Pandaria Hotfix (2012-12-11): Several abilities that should break on damage will now correctly have a chance to break when damage is absorbed, including Blinding Light.
  • Mists of Pandaria Patch 5.0.4 (2012-08-28): Added.
