By casting Renew exclusively during Borrowed Time, what is generally a relatively inefficient spell for Discipline priests can become far more appealing. |

Borrowed Time is a Tier 4 priest talent in the Discipline tree that temporarily grants a 7/14% haste buff for the next spell cast by a priest, after casting [Power Word: Shield].
Notes
Although most spells will consume the Borrowed Time effect, certain spells do not. Both [Penance] and [Renew] benefit from the buff's increased haste, but do not consume the effect. Priests with the Borrowed Time buff can therefore cast a hasted Penance and/or any number of hasted Renews (potentially therefore gaining an extra tick) without consuming the effect.
Renew gains a 5th tick at 12.5% haste, and a 6th at 37.5% haste. By casting Renew during Borrowed Time, priests with less than 12.5% haste will therefore gain a 5th tick (improving the spell's hps and mana efficiency by 25%), while priests with less than 23.5% haste will gain a 6th tick (improving the spell's hps and mana efficiency by a further 20%). By casting Renew exclusively during Borrowed Time, what is generally a relatively inefficient spell for Discipline priests can become far more appealing.
