Notes
The talent works by causing Power Word: Shield casts to grant the priest the Borrowed Time buff, increasing haste. Although most spells will consume the buff, instant and channeled spells do not. DoTs and HoTs benefit from the buff with faster ticks, as well as a reduced global cooldown, and with sufficient haste may gain an extra tick. Priests with the Borrowed Time buff can cast any number of channeled and instant spells without consuming the buff.
[Renew] gains a 5th tick at 12.5% haste, and a 6th at 37.5% haste. By casting Renew during Borrowed Time, priests with less than 12.5% haste will therefore gain a 5th tick (improving the spell's hps and mana efficiency by 25%), while priests with less than 37.5% haste will gain a 6th tick (improving the spell's HPS and mana efficiency by a further 20%). By casting it exclusively during Borrowed Time, Renew can become a far more effective and efficient option for Discipline priests.
