- This pet is voiced by Laura Shigihara, the musical composer of the game Plants vs. Zombies. The Sunflower will occasionally sing snippets of the Plants vs. Zombies ending credits song, "Zombies On Your Lawn." The Sunflower itself is both a reference to the game, and as the personal symbol of Shigihara.
- In beta, this pet used to say "Sunflower!" when summoned. It appears it no longer does this on live servers.
