The Brilliant Star is the yellow shard of the ata'mal crystal.[1] It calms the carrier's emotions, purifying them,[1] allowing them clarity in their decisions.[2] This especially affects casters, allowing a manipulation of the arcane and elemental magics rarely paralleled elsewhere.[2]
History[]
Durotan took it from Velen at the beginning of the orcs' rampage across Draenor. It proved useful in the orcs' destruction of the draenic forces.[2]
When the orcs disposed of it after their corruption, Kil'jaeden reclaimed the shard for the Burning Legion. Many seized it after the demon lord's death, and it eventually fell into the hands of Nalridun, who believed he could use it to commune with Sargeras.[3] The man'ari Arzal'kal tracked it down and retrieved it with the aid of an adventurer, before returning it to Velen.[4]
