The subject of this article was removed from World of Warcraft in patch 6.0.2.

Removed in Patch 6.0.2, the Call to Arms (CtA) battleground system offered players additional rewards for participating in the featured battleground. [Honor Points] bonuses within battlegrounds were improved, with players able to earn [Conquest Points] and additional Honor for completing an instance of that battleground.
The Call to Arms battleground changed twice per week, with all existing battlegrounds included in the rotation. The current CtA battleground was displayed in the Honor pane of the PvP interface, and corresponding NPCs could be found in capital cities.
With Patch 6.0.2 the Call to Arms battleground feature was removed, along with all related NPCs. The rest of this page details the system as it existed prior to Patch 6.0.2.
Rewards[]
The Call to Arms system offers additional rewards in the form of [Honor Points] and [Conquest Points]. These are granted in two ways.
Participation[]
Bonus Honor is awarded within battlegrounds in response to certain events or achievements, such as gathering resources in resource race battlegrounds, preventing the other team from capturing flags, and destroying enemy structures and NPCs. CtA battlegrounds offer improved bonus Honor rewards, either by awarding larger amounts, or by awarding Honor more easily. For example, Honor may be rewarded for every 130 resources gathered, instead of every 200.
Completion[]
Completing the current CtA battleground will grant players bonus Honor and/or Conquest Points. Call to Arms battlegrounds are one of two types of Bonus Battleground, with the completion rewards identical to those offered by the Random Battleground option.
The bonus rewards for completing a Bonus Battleground are displayed at the top right of the Honor pane. Greater rewards are offered for winning the battleground, while a smaller amount is rewarded for completing the battleground with a loss or a draw. The first victory each day in a Bonus Battleground offers increased rewards. Rewards are also determined by the character's level, with those at max level receiving more than other characters.
Players only receive additional rewards for completing CtA battlegrounds when having queued for that specific battleground. The Call to Arms and Random Battleground systems offer players two different ways of earning the same Bonus Battleground rewards, and CtA battlegrounds chosen randomly through the Random Battleground option do not grant double rewards.
The following rewards are offered by both the Call to Arms and Random Battleground systems:
Player level | Result | Reward |
---|---|---|
Max level | First win of the day | 270 [Honor Points] and 150 [Conquest Points] |
Subsequent win | 135 [Honor Points] and 75 [Conquest Points] | |
Loss (or Draw) | 45 [Honor Points] | |
Below max level | First win of the day | 90 [Honor Points] |
Subsequent win | 45 [Honor Points] | |
Loss (or Draw) | 15 [Honor Points] |
Rotation[]
The Call to Arms system cycles through battlegrounds in an apparently random order, with all existing battlegrounds included in the Call to Arms cycle. You can find the schedule for Call to Arms battlegrounds in the in-game Calendar, by selecting 'Battleground Call to Arms' from the drop-down 'Filters' list.
A new Call to Arms battleground is selected twice weekly, with a given battleground featuring from Tuesday to Thursday, or from Friday to Monday. Call to Arms battlegrounds change at 12:01 AM (midnight), server time.
There is always a Call to Arms battleground. However, since battlegrounds are restricted by level, non-max level players may at times be unable to participate in the Call to Arms system. Battlegrounds above a player's level are not displayed in the PvP interface, so if no Call to Arms option is currently displayed, it is likely due to the current battleground being unavailable at your character's level.
Warlords of Draenor[]
The Call to Arms battleground feature was removed with Warlords of Draenor.[1] Senior PvP Designer Brian Holinka explained that while originally added in order to increase variety to the battleground experience and allow players to regularly 'binge' on specific battlegrounds, the feature came to have an "adverse affect" on queue times in "a pretty profound way" due to players of one faction typically queuing heavily for the current Call to Arms battleground, while the other faction avoids it. In Warlords, the feature was removed, with players intended to use the Random Battleground feature instead.
