Cannoneer Whessan is a human found in Northwatch Hold in the Southern Barrens. Captain Thalo'thas Brightsun wanted Whessan killed. As of the Cataclysm, He along with Cannoneer Smythe are alive and well, apparently having not been killed as Thalo'thas wanted. However, Captain Fairmount seems to be missing, which is rather odd considering she is the only one of the three named NPCs of the assassination quest who is missing. He appears to have won many bowling tournaments, as seen by his trophy case.
As of the Cataclysm, he as well as Cannoneer Smythe have moved down to the shore bank, arming the cannons against the Horde assault. He himself serves no interactable purpose, but his trophies do, as they are used for ammo later on.
He survived the razing of Northwatch Hold and during the Fourth War, he was a part of a large Alliance army that advanced on the Crossroads and was encountered by Horde champions.[1]
