Objectives[]

Collect 6 Overdue Scrolls from Necrotic Acolytes[sic] in the Grimoirium.

Description[]

One of the... more regrettable duties of the Mistress of Tomes is the collation and maintenance of our scroll library. Unfortunately, many of our acolytes are less than prompt when it comes to returning items they have borrowed, which requires me to seek them out and retrieve them myself.

Of course, this is far too menial a task for a baroness, but that is why lackeys like you exist.

Go, and retrieve my scrolls. Feel free to use whatever persuasive means you have at your disposal.

Rewards[]

You will receive:

  • 25g 74s
  • 9,450 XP

Progress[]

Have you found my scrolls?

Completion[]

Wonderful. Kel'Thuzad's pets are nothing if not reliable.

We are done here.

Notes[]

Despite what the quest objectives say, scrolls are obtained from Studious Acolytes found around the Grimoirium. You can either kill them for the scrolls or talk to them to obtain the items peacefully. In the latter case, Acolytes have one of the following gossip options:

  • Don't you have a ritual to study?
  • Can't you see I'm busy, acolyte?
  • What is it, acolyte?

Gossip <Ask about Ninadar's scrolls.>

This will prompt one of several responses. The acolyte may refuse to give you their scroll and run away while saying:

  • Studious Acolyte says: I returned mine yesterday, I swear!
  • Studious Acolyte says: I know better than to keep one of Ninadar's scrolls for too long.
  • Studious Acolyte says: An overdue scroll? What do you take me for, a truant?

Alternatively, they will respond with an excuse, at which point you can threaten them:

  • I simply must keep posession[sic] of the scroll to complete my research.
Just tell the baroness you couldn't find it.
  • Oh, this? I'm almost finished.
Just tell Ninadar I'll need it a little longer.
  • Yes, I still have the scroll.
What exactly do you plan to do about it?

Gossip <Threaten the acolyte.>

When threatened, they can either decide to give you the scroll before running away:

  • Studious Acolyte says: Here you go. You just saved me a walk.
  • Studious Acolyte says: No need for violence, you can have the scroll.
  • Studious Acolyte says: Ninadar sent you? Say no more, you can take it.

Or turn hostile, forcing you to kill them and loot the scroll from them:

  • Studious Acolyte says: You will not stand in the way of my research!
  • Studious Acolyte says: No! You cannot have it!
  • Studious Acolyte says: You dare make demands of me? Know your place, acolyte!
