Captain Galvangar in World of Warcraft.

Captain Galvangar is an elite orc boss found in Iceblood Garrison in Alterac Valley.

Captain Galvangar will give all the Horde forces within Alterac Valley a buff which gives them a size increase and a 20% health increase for the duration. Killing him will result in [Honor] for the Alliance forces and Stormpike Guard faction gain, and prevent Horde players from receiving this buff.

Galvangar appears alongside Drek'Thar in the tunnel outside the valley. He seems to be his personal assistant.

Galvangar was briefly seen in Frostwolf Village and was then present at the first Azerothian Kosh'harg in Razor Hill in Durotar, standing next to Nazgrel.

Abilities

•  Cleave — Inflicts 110% of weapon damage to an enemy and its nearest allies, affecting up to 3 targets.
•  Frightening Shout — Shouts at nearby enemies causing them to flee in fear for 6 sec.
•  Mortal Strike — Inflicts 200% weapon damage and leaves the target wounded, reducing the effectiveness of any healing by 25% for 5 sec.
•  Whirlwind — Attacks nearby enemies in a whirlwind of steel that lasts 2 sec. and inflicts normal damage plus a bonus.

Notes and trivia

• Galvangar 'resets' his health back to 100% if you run him out of Iceblood Garrison. (wise to Tank him at the back of the building so to avoid his fears running you out or have a warrior tank him and use [Berserker Rage] or have a shaman plant a [Tremor Totem]).
• Galvangar appears as a legendary Warrior minion in the Fractured in Alterac Valley expansion for Hearthstone. His flavor text reads: "It wasn't the ravages of war that took Galvangar, it was hypothermia."
