Captain Paul Carver is the human captain of the Stormwind icebreaker The Assurance found in Stormwind Harbor of Stormwind City. He and his crew were meant to travel to Northrend as part of the Valiance Expedition to take part in the war against the Lich King, but before taking off they noticed a severe amount of bugs on board and had to stay for the remainder of the war.
