Captured Gor'vosh Stoneshaper are non-attackable ogres found imprisoned in Brute's Rise in Ashran. Players can interact with their prisons to free them, causing the Stoneshaper to grant the player the Boulder Shield buff.
Boulder Shield[]
This 15-minute buff accumulates a powerful protective damage absorption buff while the player is out of combat. The latter buff is separate and may be consumed entirely without removing the former generating buff.
Players who already have the Boulder Shield buff active cannot free other Stoneshapers, preventing them from depriving others of the chance to acquire the buff.
Tips[]
The Boulder Shield buff is very useful, and only takes a moment to obtain. Doing so is highly recommended whenever the opportunity arises.
The buff can be useful for accelerating mob farming time, due to fewer globals and resources wasted on self-healing and damage prevention; for protecting against ganking and sudden world PvP; and for taking back into the central battle, where it will improve the player's survival chances.
