- For trainers with the title "Illustrious Grand Master", see Trainer#Illustrious Grand Master.
Cataclysm proficiency, formerly known as Illustrious Grand Master, is the fourth stage of a profession learned at the appropriate profession trainer when a character has reached at least level 78. It unlocks the use and development of profession related skills in Cataclysm related content. Not counting racial or other bonuses, it allows skill ups to a maximum of 75 points.
Profession proficiency levels fall into nine groups to learn and execute recipes organized by expansion: Classic, Outland (), Northrend (), Cataclysm (), Pandaria (), Draenor (), Legion (), Battle for Azeroth () and Shadowlands ().

Notes[]
- Prior to the expansion Battle for Azeroth, the Illustrious Grand Master proficiency could be learned as early as level 75 and 425 skill and allowed progression gain up to a maximum of 525 points, not counting any racial or any other bonuses.
- With only the Cataclysm expansion purchased, no skill or profession can go beyond the Cataclysm proficiency level.
Patch changes[]
- Patch 8.0.1 (2018-07-17): Each expansion now has a separate profession skill bar, with smaller caps for each expansion, instead of one gigantic profession skill bar for all expansions put together.
