Characters like Commander Boltcog, Fangcaller Hrillik shouldn´t be in the category? What about the Alliance Outrunners? --Mordecay (talk) 20:28, 18 November 2018 (UTC)
- This category is really very arbitrary, but basically here's how I see it with a few examples:
- Random nameless NPCs which happen to be riders, cavaliers, cavalry, beastriders, horsemen, that's literally in their description that they are riders. No debates to have.
- Knights, huntresses, bat riders, dragon riders, wind riders, these guys are all riders as well, but since they already belong to a "mounted warrior" sub-category... no need to repeat it twice.
- One exception however: death knights already belongs to the Knights category, which belongs to the Mounted warriors category, however you often see death knight using NPC-only models where they fight mounted. So I tag these guys as mounted warriors when I see them (Rivendare, Salanar, etc.)
- Commander Boltcog is riding a mechanostrider, and leads a squad of leper gnome mechanostrider riders to battle. That's enough of a qualification to make him a rider. Same thing with Mechanoranger Cogspark.
- Fangcaller Hrillik spends his days flying around on a pterrordax until you come and wreck his face. Riding is what he does in life.
- Nethergarde Foreman - only some of them are mounted on horses, and then they are not really using them as their main activity. They are foremen that happen to use a mount to sometime walk around. Not riders.
- Outriders/outrunners are most of the time using mounts to actually outrun/outride their opponents. If they are depicted as mounted, then they are riders.
- Company Fusilier - typically I wouldn't mark these guys as mounted warriors, since they are riflemen, but according to wowhead it seems 100% of them are actually mounted on horses, so I guess it fits.
- Tirion Fordring, Varian Wrynn, Anduin Wrynn, Thrall, Gorn - they are just random guys that happens to ride a horse or a wolf to travel from point A to point B. Not worth marking them as riders.

- What about the sethrak that have "some of them are on mounts" like Faithless Auditor and Faithless Warbringer?
- Friar Farshire would be a guy that happens to ride a mule?
- However, the Company Fusilier example is... questionable? How are they different from Gorn?
- What about Shattered Hand Flayer?

- Basically Gorn is a single orc that happens to stand around, mounted. Varok Saurfang isn't tagged as a mounted warrior just because he rode a wolf to lead his army to Ashenvale. I don't believe Gorn riding a wolf once is notable enough to tag him as being a rider. That'd be like tagging Khadgar as a gryphon rider because he rode a gryphon once in The Last Guardian.
- For the sethrak that "some of them are on mounts" and Friar Farhshire I don't know because I've not seem then in action. The Company Fusiliers however it turns out after digging deeper that they are constantly riding their horses, even when fighting you. They are basically mounted riflemen. The Shattered Hand Flayers are in my opinion notable enough because they ride ravagers. Xporc (talk) 22:57, 18 November 2018 (UTC)
