The term champion is a rank and title obtainable by both players and NPCs of both factions, and in many different organizations within the Warcraft universe. It is usually associated with a trooper who outperforms his contemporaries in a meaningful way that stands out from the rest. This rank isn't just for show off as having it may mean commanding troops.[1]
Another form of champion could be a representation for someone who is higher in rank and wants them to act as an expansion of their own.[2]
