Over the years, Blizzard Entertainment has done several charity events that include but are not limited to dinners or auctions at BlizzCon, World of Warcraft companion pet releases and Overwatch hero skins.
World of Warcraft
- November 2009: Pandaren Monk[1] - over $1.1 million (USD) for the Make-A-Wish Foundation.[2]
- December 2010: Moonkin Hatchling[3][4] - over $800 thousand (USD) for the Make-A-Wish Foundation.[5]
- May 2011: Cenarion Hatchling[6][7] - over $1.7 million (USD) for the American Red Cross's Japan Earthquake and Pacific Tsunami relief efforts.[8]
- October 2011: Server blade[9] - over $330 thousand (USD) for the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.[10]
- November 2012: Cinder Kitten[11] - over $2.3 million (USD) for the American Red Cross's Hurricane Sandy relief efforts.[12]
- November 2013: Alterac Brandy[13] - over $1 million (USD) for the Make-A-Wish Foundation.[14]
- December 2014: Argi[15] - over $1.9 million (USD) for the Make-A-Wish Foundation.[16]
- December 2015: Brightpaw[17] - over $1.7 million (USD) for the Make-A-Wish Foundation.[18]
- December 2016: Mischief[19] - over $2.5 million (USD) for the Make-A-Wish Foundation.[20]
- September 2017: Shadow[21] - over $1.8 million (USD) for the American Red Cross Disaster Relief.[22] Due to recent disasters, Blizzard decided to start the charity early for this pet.
- November 2018: Whomper[23] for Code.org
- December 2019: Dottie for Make-A-Wish Foundation and WE.org.[24]
- March 2021: Bananas and Daisy for the Doctors Without Borders foundation.[25] However, donations are made directly to the charity with goals of $500,000 for Bananas and $1 Million for Daisy. Once a goal is reach, the pet for that milestone is made available to players playing World of Warcraft.
