Cho'gall resides in the Throne of the Apocalypse in the Bastion of Twilight in the Twilight Highlands. He is the final boss on normal mode and the penultimate on heroic, with the final, optional boss being Lady Sinestra. He is surrounded by minions who must be dealt with before engaging the actual boss.

Adventure Guide[]
Under Cho'gall's control, the orcish Twilight's Hammer clan was transformed into a murderous cult obsessed with the Old Gods and their herald, Deathwing. Extended contact with his dark master has hideously warped both Cho'gall's mind and body.
Abilities[]
Cho'gall has a 10 minute enrage timer in all difficulty modes.
- Berserk — Increases the caster's attack and movement speeds by 150% and all damage it deals by 900%. Cast after 10 minutes of combat.
Many abilities in the encounter will cause Corrupted Blood.
- Corrupted Blood — Your blood is corrupted! Increases damage taken from Corruption of the Old God by 2%. Stacks to 100.
- Corruption: Accelerated — Your Corrupted Blood has gone to your heart and it is accelerating! You are becoming more corrupt by the second! Causes two stacks of Corrupted Blood per second for one minute. Gained at 25% corruption. Magic dispellable.
- Corruption: Sickness — Your Corrupted Blood has made you sick, causing you to vomit and inflict 39000 to 41000 Shadow damage to friends in a 5 yard cone in front of you, also causing Corrupted Blood. Happens after 50% corruption.
- Corruption: Malformation — At 75% Corrupted Blood you are afflicted with Corruption: Malformation. A Malformation has grown out of your back which will cast Shadow Bolts at nearby friendly players.
- Corruption: Absolute — At 100% Corruption your Corrupted Blood has corrupted you absolutely, transforming you into a Faceless One. You receive 100% less from healing but inflict 100% additional damage and spells are cast instantly.

Stage One: Chaos Comes![]
- Conversion — Cho'gall beckons to the weak of mind causing the target to channel the Worshipping spell on him. Worshipping Cho'gall causes him to gain Twisted Devotion every 3 sec. Worshipping can be interrupted.
- Twisted Devotion — The Worshipping has caused Cho'gall to become more zealous, increasing damage done by 10% for 20 sec.
- Fury of Cho'gall — Cho'gall blasts the target, inflicting 30,000 Shadow and 30,000 Physical damage and increasing damage taken by Physical and Shadow by 20% each. Cast on primary aggro target. Lasts 45 seconds.
- Flame's Orders — Cho'gall Orders the Flame to come to his aid. Adds 20,000 fire damage to each melee swing and spawns Fire patches.
- Flaming Destruction — While Flame's Orders empowers Cho'gall's hammer, his melee attacks inflict 23400 to 24600 additional Fire damage to his current target and splashes molten fire that creates a burning Blaze nearby.
- Blaze — A 5 yard radius pool of burning flames inflicts 12675 to 13325 Fire damage every 1 sec on players standing within the fire. The Blaze lasts 25 sec.
- Flaming Destruction — While Flame's Orders empowers Cho'gall's hammer, his melee attacks inflict 23400 to 24600 additional Fire damage to his current target and splashes molten fire that creates a burning Blaze nearby.
- Shadow's Orders — Cho'gall Orders the Shadow to come to his aid. Adds a shadow damage AoE that hits everyone in the room to Cho'gall's melee attacks.
- Empowered Shadows — While Shadow's Orders empowers Cho'gall's hammer, it emits bursts of nether power every 3 sec. The hammer deals 19500 to 20500 Shadow damage to players within 50000 yards.
- Summon Corrupting Adherent — Cho'gall summons Corrupted Adherents with 1.7 million HP (10-man)/4.98 million HP (25-man) from the nearby portals to aid him. Corrupting Adherents have Corrupting Crash, Sprayed Corruption and Depravity. Corrupting Adherents leave a black pool on the ground when they die that causes Corruption when standing in it.
- Corrupting Adherent — Cho'gall summons these faceless minions of the Old Gods to hasten the doom of his foes.
- Depravity — Inflicts 21937 to 23062 Shadow damage to enemies within 50,000 yards and causes Corruption. 1.5 second cast
- Corrupting Crash — Fires a shadow missile at a target, dealing 43875 to 46125 Shadow damage to all enemies near the impact. Targets hit by the Corrupting Crash have corruption applied to them.
- Spilled Blood of the Old God — The slain Adherent to the Old God spills its corrupted blood. Inflicts 14625 to 15375 Shadow damage to enemies within 0 yards and applies Corrupted Blood.
- Fester Blood — Cho'gall festers the blood of all Corrupting Adherents, causing pools of Spilled Blood of the Old God to form into animated oozes. Fester Blood also causes the dark blood of any living Corrupting Adherents to boil, causing the Festering Blood effect.
- Festering Blood — When Cho'gall uses Fester Blood, the dark blood of any living Corrupting Adherents sprays out from their bodies, inflicting 34125 to 35875 Shadow damage every 2 sec to all players within 20 yards. Players damaged by this ability will gain Corruption.
- Blood of the Old God — The Corrupting Adherents' blood congeals into numerous vile oozes, each of which fixates on a random player and moves towards them. The animated Blood of the Old God raises the Corruption level of any target they melee.
Stage Two: Come, Infinite Night![]
- Fury of Cho'gall — Cho'gall blasts the target, inflicting 30,000 Shadow and 30,000 Physical damage and increasing damage taken by Physical and Shadow by 20% each. Cast on primary aggro target. Lasts 45 seconds.
- Corruption of the Old God — Cho'gall becomes completely corrupted by C'Thun, inflicting 4875 to 5125 Shadow damage every 2 sec to everyone in the room.
- Darkened Creations — Cho'gall summons 4/10 (10/25) Darkened Creations with 166,000 HP (both 10/25-man) to aid him! Darkened Creations are tentacles that have Debilitating Beam.
- Darkened Creation — Darkened Creations continually try to channel Debilitating Beam on a random player.
- Debilitating Beam — Reduces healing and damage done by 75%. Inflicts 4875 to 5125 Shadow damage every 1 sec. Causes Corrupted Blood every 1 sec. Lasts 10 seconds. Undispellable.
- Darkened Creation — Darkened Creations continually try to channel Debilitating Beam on a random player.
Strategy[]
Phase One[]
Take Cho'gall to a corner and have the ranged group up in the center. When Cho'gall casts conversion you will need to stun, interrupt, disorient or CC the players affected and this will be much easier in a tight group. The tanks will need to switch off for Fury of Cho'gall.
When a Corrupting Adherent spawns all DPS must switch to it. You must be careful to interrupt Depravity and move out of the way of Corrupting Crash. If you gain corruption in this phase phase two will be much harder. Make certain the Corrupting Adherent dies in a corner and that the tank and melee run out as it is dying to avoid corruption from spilled blood of the old god. The add must die before Cho'gall casts Fester Blood. If you kill it in time you will then need to snare and AoE down the Congealed Blood of the Old God. Avoid being melee'd by these as they cause corruption.
Repeat the process with the next Corrupting Adherent and make certain it dies very close to the first Adherent. This time you will have twice as much blood of the old god. The third adherent will have thrice as much blood of the old god, acting as a soft enrage.
If you are close to phasing and have an adherent spawn continue damaging Cho'gall. The adherent will despawn at 25%.
Phase Two[]
This phase is relatively simple, you will take more damage from the AoE pulse depending on how much Corruption you gained in the first phase. If you hit 100 Corruption you cannot be healed and will die. You will still need to swap tanks for Fury of Cho'gall.
Cho'gall will spawn Darkened Creations in this phase. It is very important to interrupt and stun these so that they do not cast Debilitating Beam, which causes corruption and effectively removes a player from the fight. The first two or three waves should be killed, after that burn Cho'gall.
Tip: Cho'gall tank should move the boss to a wall when nearing phase 2. This causes the Eyes that pop up to appear in a semi-circle as oppose to all around. This lets the DPS focus fire on each eye with interrupts and killing them.
Heroic Mode[]
On 25-player Heroic Mode, two Corrupting Adherents will spawn at a time, which must both be killed. In addition, double the normal amount of blood will spawn during Fester Blood.
Shadow Lords and Fire Elementals will appear on Flame and Shadow's Orders that must be damaged to reduce Cho'gall's stacks of their buff.
In Phase 2, Spiked Tentacles will appear in addition to darkened creations. The raid should move away from them (as they will knock players back) and simply ignore them, as they have too much HP to efficiently kill.
Solo strategy[]
Pop CDs and blow him up. Don't use any abilities that summon guardians, like [Mirror Image], or Conversion casts will charm the player, resetting the encounter. Just focus on the boss and burn down his health as quickly as possible.

Patch changes[]
- Hotfix (2011-04-29): The timing between Corrupted Adherent Summons and Cho'gall Fury is consistent with its behavior prior to 4.1.
- Patch 4.1.0 (2011-04-26):
- The health of Blood of the Old God on 10-player Heroic difficulty has been lowered by roughly 20%.
- The health of Darkened Creations on 10-player Heroic difficulty has been lowered by roughly 20%.
- The corruption gained from Corruption: Accelerated on 10-player Heroic difficulty has been lowered slightly.
- Knockbacks and Deathgrip can now be used to interrupt players that are converted by Cho'gall.
- Hotfix (2011-01-18): Fester Blood now hits everyone in the room instead of having a 20-yard radius on Heroic difficulty during the Cho'gall encounter. No more kiting he who has too many eyeballs.
- Hotfix (2011-01-05): Shadow/Fire elementals are now always absorbed during the Cho’gall encounter. Elementals are absorbed no matter what amount of health they have. Cho’gall always receives the appropriate amount of the appropriate buff when consuming an elemental. The elementals are unable to fall below 1 health or otherwise be killed, so Cho’gall always gets 1 stack of the corresponding buff at minimum.
