According to one player, it was the first mount in the alpha stages of World of Warcraft; everyone was given one when they started, along with a note saying "Welcome to world of darkness".[1]

[Plainsrunning], a racial ability that served as the tauren's "mount" prior to the release of World of Warcraft.
