Competitor's Souvenir

Essence of Competition.

The Competitor's Souvenir teaches you how to summon the Essence of Competition, a Chinese dragon companion.

During the 2008 Spirit of Competition event, 500 players each day received a code for this companion via in-game mail. The winners were chosen at random, but only players who'd achieved certain milestones during the event were eligible. Some of these milestones included having an arena rating of 1650 or higher, increasing two Burning Crusade reputations to exalted, and raising a crafting profession to 375. A player who received a code could redeem it at Gilbarta Grandhammer in Ironforge or Muja in Orgrimmar.

An Essence of Competition NPC could be seen beside Gilbarta and Muja. Despite the companion itself being released only in China, the code-redemption NPCs and their accompanying Essences of Competition appeared in other regions as well.
