Curse of Weakness is a warlock ability.


  • In Diablo II, Necromancers possess a curse called Weaken, which drains/saps the strength from their enemies.[2]
  • Curse of Weakness is a rare warlock spell in the The Witchwood expansion for Hearthstone. The flavor text reads: "Warlocks refer to this as a "balance change.""

Patch changes

  • Shadowlands Patch 9.0.1 (2020-10-13): Redesigned as a baseline ability at level 6. Now increases the time between an enemy's attacks by 20% for 2 minutes.
    Old: Reduces the target's attack power by 30% for 10 sec.
  • Battle for Azeroth Patch 8.1.0 (2018-12-11): Curse of Weakness now reduces attack power (was physical damage), and its effect is increased to 30% (was 25%).
  • Battle for Azeroth Patch 8.0.1 (2018-07-17): Converted from a rank 19 honor talent to a PvP talent.
  • Legion Patch 7.0.3 (2016-07-19): Re-added as an honor talent. Now reduces Physical damage done by 25% (up from 10%) but lasts for 10 seconds (down from 2 minutes).
  • Mists of Pandaria Patch 5.0.4 (2012-08-28): Removed.
  • Cataclysm Patch 4.0.1 (2010-10-12): Redesigned. Reduces physical damage done instead of reducing attack power. No longer reduces armor.
  • Wrath of the Lich King Patch 3.1.0 (2009-04-14): Now also reduces the armor of the target by 5%.
  • Test-inline.png Patch 0.10 (2004-09-18): Effect has been slightly reduced.
  • Test-inline.png Patch 0.9 (2004-08-17): Effect reduced at higher levels.
