Curse of the Blood Elves is the Alliance campaign in Warcraft III: The Frozen Throne.

Still grieving for the loss of their homeland, Prince Kael'thas and his band of blood elf warriors wish to join the fight against the Scourge near the ruins of Dalaran, yet it quickly becomes clear that the commander of the Alliance forces, Lord Garithos, harbors considerable prejudice against any non-humans and does not hesitate to voice his disdain of Kael and his people. Pitted against overwhelming odds, the blood elves have to accept aid from a band of naga led by Lady Vashj. She helps Kael'thas understand that the unexplained feeling of hunger that has gripped his people is due to their racial addiction of magic, and the withdrawal resulting from the loss of the Sunwell. Consorting with the naga turns out to be all the reason Lord Garithos needs to condemn the blood elves as traitors and lock them up in Dalaran's dungeons.

Lady Vashj helps Kael and his people escape from the dungeons, and he agrees to join her and seek out her master - Illidan Stormrage, in the hopes that he can help cure the blood elves' addiction to magic. Kael and Vashj reactivate the portal once used to usher Archimonde into the world of Azeroth and escape through it, into the broken wastes of Outland - the last remnants of the shattered orc homeworld of Draenor. The blood elves help rescue Illidan from the clutches of Maiev Shadowsong and join his quest to wrestle control over Outland from its current master - the pit lord Magtheridon. Illidan and his followers shut down the demon gates that bring in demonic reinforcements, storm the Black Citadel, and succeed in supplanting Magtheridon. This victory turns out to be short-lived, however, as the demon lord Kil'jaeden descends upon Illidan's new seat of power and coerces the wayward demon hunter to fulfill his initial task - the destruction of the treacherous Lich King.
