The Da'kani are a tribe[1] of intelligent gorillas in Gorilla Gorge in Zuldazar. They became enlightened due to exposure to kaja'mite,[2] which wasn't always there.[3]
History[]
Battle for Azeroth[]
Kaja'mite gave the Da'kani great intelligence and wit, but with intelligence came war. The peace-loving Da'kani were imprisoned by their brethren but were set free by an adventurer at Tsunga's request, eventually culminating in the defeat of their leader, King Da'ka.[4]
Tides of Vengeance[]
When war came to Zandalar, Bilgewater goblins attempted to poach the Da'kani despite the gorillas' best efforts to speak with them peacefully.[5][6] In response to this, Grong joined forces with the Alliance, volunteering to become a living weapon against the Horde by converting his intelligence into pure strength with gnomish technology.[7]
