Dark Iron Deposit is a mining mineral node found only in the Blackrock Depths dungeon and in the Molten Core raid. It can only be smelted at the Black Forge.
Patch changes[]
Patch 4.0.3a (2010-11-23): Dark Iron mineral nodes will no longer appear in the Burning Steppes or Searing Gorge. - Patch 1.7.0 (2005-09-13): Dark Iron mineral nodes will now sometimes appear in the Burning Steppes and Searing Gorge.
