Dark Iron Thanes

Not to be confused with The Seven.

The Dark Iron Thanes are ghosts of eight former Dark Iron rulers fought as a mini-boss encounter in the Athenaeum in Blackwing Descent. They must be defeated before the Ancient Bell can be used to start the Atramedes boss encounter. Each of the thanes has a unique ability; when one of them is killed, all of the remaining thanes gain a copy of his ability.

Each of the thanes has a small throne, and his crest is displayed on one of the Ancient Dwarven Shields behind him.

Notes

• Each of the thanes has an associated Archaeology artifact; see  [Kings Under the Mountain]. Most of them also have their names referenced in items that drop from Blackwing Descent trash mobs.

  • Execution Sentence now deals damage only.
