David Fried, also known as DesignerDave, is a former game designer for Blizzard Entertainment.

Fried began working for Blizzard as a QA analyst and did lead testing for Warcraft II: Battle.net Edition and Diablo II. He then moved to level designing and worked on the game design and scripting for StarCraft 64.

He worked on campaign design in Warcraft III: Reign of Chaos and Warcraft III: The Frozen Throne. Fried designed, modeled, and scripted the campaign levels The Culling, Digging up the Dead, By Demons Be Driven, A Destiny of Flame and Sorrow, Wrath of the Betrayer, The Brothers Stormrage, The Dungeons of Dalaran, and King Arthas, in addition to designing and modeling several multiplayer levels. He also assisted in the design of heroes, abilities, and units, and both wrote and edited parts of the Warcraft III: Reign of Chaos manual, character dialogue, and help functions within the game.

Fried later worked on World of Warcraft as a quest designer. He designed multiple quests as well as multiple characters such as a Sergra Darkthorn, Darsok Swiftdagger, Wizbang Cranktoggle, Takrin Pathseeker, Kargal Battlescar, Illiyana, Delgren the Purifier, and Balthule Shadowstrike. He also worked on Warcraft III: Reforged, and released some of the campaign design docs of the game on Patreon.[1]

Outside of Blizzard, he has been part of gaming companies in Asia and Europe and worked on games such as Oddworld: Stranger's Wrath, The Da Vinci Code, Silent Hill: Homecoming, and Akaneiro: Demon Hunters.
