As Defender Kaluum
Defender Illona is a draenei paladin located at Auchenai Precipice in Talador.
History[]
Inspired by her grandfather at a young age, Illona traveled to Shattrath to fight against the Shadow Council. However, this was not enough to defeat the guards at Auchenai Precipice. She would come across the Alliance commander, who helped her prove her worth to Vindicator Dalu and Soulbinder Halaari. After this, she joins the commander's garrison. Sometime later, she heard of a crystal that gives power to those who will use it for good. The crystal was stolen by a demon named Ambassador Hellmaw. This was similar to a crystal her grandfather called the 
[Light of Exodus] and Illona wanted to recover it. Alongside the commander, she slaughtered the demon and took it back.
She can also be seen watching fights between garrison commanders in the Coliseum of Highmaul.
Abilities[]
Reckoning — Taunts the target to attack you, and increases threat that you generate against the target for 6 sec.

- Cleanse — Dispels magic on the target, removing harmful spells while applying increased attack and casting speed.
- Hammer of the Righteous — Hammer the current target, causing a wave of light that hits all targets within 10 yards.
- Repentance — Puts the enemy target in a state of meditation, incapacitating them for up to 8 sec.
- Bodyguard
- Guiding Light — Begins a ritual to create a summoning portal, requiring the caster and 1 ally to complete. This portal can be used to summon party and raid members.
- Hammer of the Righteous — Hammer the current target, causing a wave of light that hits all targets within 8 yards.
- Righteous Fury — Increases your threat generation while active, making you a more effective tank.

- Bodyguard - Can accompany you as a guardian in Draenor when assigned to a level 2 or 3 barracks.

Notes and trivia[]
- If a player meets another player with Illona as a companion, she is named Sha'tari Defender.
- There are also unused IDs of a different-looking draenei called Illona.
- During early alpha, she was initially a male named Defender Kaluum.
- She has an invisible Follower recruiting spell with the following description: Follower: Defender Illona — Illona always dreamt of one day joining the ancient Auchenai order. When Exarch Maladaar sent out a call for help to any willing and able draenei, Illona took up her grandfather's armor and set off to her destiny.
- While the quest recruits her directly, [Contract: Defender Illona] was also created during development.
