This article contains lore taken from Warcraft III: Reign of Chaos, Warcraft III: The Frozen Throne, the manuals, and/or official bonus maps.
Demon Gates are demonic portals. They can summon Felhounds, Infernals, and Doom Guards.
Path of the Damned[]
The Demon Gate was guarded by the orcs of the Blackrock clan, but they proved no match to the Undead Scourge led by the death knight Arthas Menethil and the lich Kel'Thuzad. Kel'thuzad then used the gate to communicate with one of the lords of the Burning Legion - the dreaded Archimonde. It was here that Archimonde instructed the Scourge to attack Dalaran and claim the Last Spellbook of Medivh in order to summon him into Azeroth.[1]
Eternity's End[]
Tichondrius controlled several Demon Gates in Felwood.[2]
One appears in place of the Dark Portal in the interlude The Last Guardian.
Trivia[]
- A Demon Gate in the Alterac Mountains appears in an early concept map for World of Warcraft. It might have been the same one belonging to the Blackrock clan in the Blackrock & Roll, Too! mission from Warcraft III.
