This page was aimed to document some of the major developments and stumbles of the Dragonflight beta and alpha, including brief flirtations with hithertofore undreamt of mechanics, scandalous experimentations (never to be seen again), and riotous exploitations of unfortunate bugs.

- July 14
- The Dragonflight external alpha test begins.
- Players have access to two servers: Koranos and Tyrhold.
- Players are able to explore Azure Span. The zone is accessed through speaking to a giant Questzertauren NPC found in the Valley of Strength in Orgrimmar and the Trade District in Stormwind City. Players can train professions and purchase crafting materials from the following Flaskataurs: Associate Professor Instructaur, Grand Apothecary Alchataur, Reagent Lord Herbataur and Reagent Lady Minertaur.
- Dracthyr evokers are available, though the dressing room is mostly non-functional in either form.
- July 21
"The Light and where to shove it"
- Access to Azure Span closes, and the starting experience for dracthyr evokers is tested in the Forbidden Reach.
[Soar] has some physics-defying properties, allowing for upside-down flight and endless duration.- Kurog Grimtotem can be killed right then and there in Stormsunder Crater, saving us all a lot of trouble.
- You're Coming With Me can be used on many friendly NPCs!
- Firelord Nomi arrives to facilitate Cooking testing.
- July 26
- The Waking Shores opens for testing, as well as the Ruby Life Pools.
- Dragonriding talent tree is available for testing.
- The Reagent Skeleton Skinnaur is open for business, providing leathers and other materials.
- Associate Professor Instructaur and Firelord Nomi have new lines.
August[]
- August 2
- Thaldraszus is open for testing and the Waking Shores are benched!
- Inscription and Skinning are available.
- Everyone can double-jump after having flown with dragonriding!
- August 9
These are dangerous times. Double the guards!
- Ohn'ahran Plains is open and Thaldraszus takes a break!
- The Azure Vault and Brackenhide Hollow are open for testing.
- August 17
- The entire isles are open
- Level 70 characters available.
- The dressing room works for dracthyr now... Technically.
