Earth Shock is an Elemental shaman ability that deals damage based on Maelstrom spent.
Notes and trivia[]
- In Classic, Earth Shock generated threat equal to twice its damage. The bonus threat was moved to [Frost Shock].
- Earth Shock is a common Shaman spell in Hearthstone. The flavor text reads: "Earth Shock? Shouldn't it be "Azeroth Shock"?"

- Patch 10.1.0 (2023-05-02): Damage increased by 6%. Does not affect PvP combat.
- Hotfix (2023-02-27): Damage increased by 6%. Does not apply to PvP.
- Hotfix (2022-11-01): Damage increased by 10%.
- Patch 10.0.0 (2022-10-25): Now a row 1 Elemental talent (was a level 10 Elemental ability).
- Patch 9.2.5 (2022-05-31): Earth Shock damage is no longer reduced by 10% in PvP combat.
- Patch 9.0.5 (2021-03-09): Damage increased by 30%.
- Patch 8.1.0 (2018-12-11): Earth Shock's damage has been reduced by 16%.

- Patch 5.0.4 (2012-08-28): No longer reduces melee and ranged attack speed of the target; instead applies the [Weakened Blows] effect. Now learned at level 6 (was 5).
- Patch 4.0.1 (2010-10-12): Attack speed reduction of the target increased to 20%. Now learned at level 5 (was 4).
- Patch 3.2.0 (2009-08-04): Redesigned. This spell no longer interrupts spell casting, but rather reduces melee attack speed by 10% for 8 seconds (exclusive with similar effects such as [Thunder Clap]).
- Patch 2.3.0 (2007-11-13): Interrupting a channeled spell with this spell will now always properly prevent casting spells from the same spell school for 2 sec.
- Patch 2.1.0 (2007-05-22): Rank 8 is now properly considered an Interrupt effect for talents and abilities that affect interrupts.
- Patch 2.0.3 (2007-01-09): No longer generates extra threat.
