The Emperor's Step is the main entrance of the Shrine of Seven Stars, located in the center of the first floor. To the left is the Star's Bazaar, the Golden Lantern inn is to the right, the Path of Serenity is upstairs to the left, the Ethereal Corridor to the upstairs right, and the Summer Terrace is outside.
The areas on both sides of the grand staircase are occupied: the southwest side has been converted to a small hospital, while the northeastern side is an engineering workshop.
The southwestern balcony (accessible from second floor; Chamber of Enlightenment) holds examples of gear sets (helm and shoulders only). The northeastern balcony (accessible from second floor; Chamber of Reflection) is being used as a small concert hall.
