This is a buff received by Monks after completing a class quest at the Peak of Serenity. When you reach level 85 the experience bonus is decreased to 20%.

The subject of this section has been removed from World of Warcraft.

Once you reach level 90, the buff is changed to provide 3000 Mastery Rating.

Patch changes

• Patch 9.0.1 (2020-10-13): Removed. The quests that previously granted this buff now provide bonus rested experience instead.
  
• Patch 7.1.0 (2016-10-25): Enlightenment is no longer rewarded from the Practice Makes Perfect quests for monk players above level 89.
  
• Hotfix (2012-11-29): Enlightenment is now always granted upon completion of Monk daily quests.
  
• Patch 5.0.4 (2012-08-28): Added.
