Essence of Wintergrasp is a buff that is available for every player in Northrend, as long as the faction controls Wintergrasp. Players under the effect of the buff receive 5% more experience.

While in Wintergrasp, players are able to see greater elemental spirits, which have a 100% chance to drop the following items:

•  [Crystallized Air]
•  [Crystallized Shadow]
•  [Crystallized Fire]
•  [Crystallized Water]
•  [Crystallized Earth]

Patch changes

• Patch 4.0.1 (2010-10-12): No longer grants ability to collect  [Stone Keeper's Shards] from dungeon bosses in Northrend.
  
• Patch 3.0.8 (2009-01-20): The Wintergrasp Aura should now properly update in all instances, transferring the buff when the zone control changes.

  Essence of Wintergrasp has a new icon.
