Exarch Hataaru was one of the five Exarchs, leaders of draenei society under Prophet Velen. He was the leader of the Artificers, the engineers of the draenei. He is quite reckless in his will to support his people through technology, even though the flora of Draenor is different from the one of Argus.[1]

Background

He was first seen in Elodor, where he worked on activating town's defenses when the Shadowmoon clan attacked. After the attack, Hataaru argued with Exarch Naielle. After helping him with a goren problem, Hataaru joined the Exarch council but was killed. Maladaar wanted to speak with his ghost but Akama and Othaar forbade. Maladaar nevertheless did that with the help of Soulbinder Nyami who abruptly ceased the ritual when the spirit pointed at her.

It was later revealed that he was killed by Exarch Othaar, who betrayed the Exarchs and joined the Sargerei.

His spirit later battled against Yrel as part of her trial to become an Exarch.

<The two Exarchs are in the middle of a heated argument.>

Thank you for all your help, <name>. Apparently my devices have riled up the local flora - not to mention my fellow Exarch.

It is no matter. I will do whatever it takes to defend our people and rebuild what we lost... the occasional bug is to be expected. Surely you agree!
