- This article is about the sword. For the rogue artifact trait, see [Fatebringer].
Fatebringer[1] is a sword wielded by Alexandros Mograine in Maldraxxus. It was crafted by Bonesmith Heirmir when Alexandros was named baron of the House of the Chosen and is modeled after the Ashbringer, the legendary sword Alexandros wielded in life. Alexandros fought hard to come by some of the materials used in its crafting. Heirmir doesn't know where the skull in the blade came from, but claims that it is not from Maldraxxus.[2]
Notes and trivia[]
- In addition to the visual similarity between the two swords, Fatebringer seemingly shares the Ashbringer's ability to disintegrate undead; while accompanying players during [60] Death Rains and [60] Sustain, In Vain, Alexandros' killing blows will sometimes trigger Ashbringer, turning the enemy's body into a pile of ash.
- Early in the Shadowlands alpha, before Blizzard had finalized Fatebringer's model, Alexandros used the Fallen Hope and Corrupted Remembrance appearances for the [Ashbringer] artifact as placeholders.[3]
