Orgrim Doomhammer is former second-in-command of the Frostwolf clan, and childhood friend of the late chieftain Durotan. The burliest Frostwolf in several generations,[3] Orgrim is fearsome in battle, where he wields his namesake the legendary Doomhammer.

Misjudging the warlock Gul'dan, Orgrim betrayed Durotan, dooming his clan to extermination. Unable to prevent Durotan or Draka's deaths, he hopes to atone for his mistake by one day finding and aiding their child Go'el.

History[]

Dying Draenor[]

He and Durotan would become fast friends in their youth and a life long friendship would be forged. As he grew Doomhammer would prove himself to be a mighty warrior and thus the Frostwolf clan knew that he would be chosen to serve as Durotan's second in command when Garad passed away.

Doomhammer would bare witness to the parlay between Gul'dan and Garad, where the later refused to join the Horde. Doomhammer would loyally aid Durotan in battle against the Red Walker clan and quickly come to realize the attraction between Durotan and the returned from exile Draka. Orgrim would help organize the retreat from the Frostwolves home after the eruption of the dormant volcano took the clan, with the weakened spirits and the shaman being unable to hear them, by surprise. Doomhammer would later witness the parlay between Gul'dan and Durotan, when the warlock once again offered the Frostwolves a place in the Horde. While others in the clan such as Nokrar were outraged at Durotan's refusal to join, Doomhammer would praise his friend and chieftain.[4]

Sometime later the spirits would be able to get a message of sorts to Drek'Thar and Durotan decided to lead a party north to aid the spirits, while leaving Draka and Doomhammer in charge. With Durotan and his war party gone the opportunistic Red Walkers decided to strike out against the Frostwolves in order to wound them and use them as a food supply. Unknown to the Redwalkers the weakened spirits still had enough energy to give one final gift to the Frostwolves and Durotan and his party rushed south and the Frostwolves under the command of Draka and Orgrim Doomhammer fought to kill their enemies. During this battle Doomhammer would become locked in combat against the Red Walker chieftain who successfully knocked out after hearing Durotan's orders to keep him alive. Doomhammer would later hear, along with Durotan, how the noble Red Walker clan had fallen so low and then witness Durotan swiftly kill its chieftain, thus putting end to the Red Walkers.[5]

In light of the war with Redwalkers and hardships had taken a toll on the Frostwolves, Doomhammer would support Durotan's order to join the Horde.[6]

Doomhammer would join the Horde in attacking the humans but like his Chieftain Durotan, would refuse to raid the defenseless towns seeing no honor in attacking those who could not defend themselves. As Gul'dan's fel magic starting destroying the land around them Durotan, wishing the best for his son and his people, would decide to work with the humans to stop Gul'dan. However Doomhammer unable to see how working with the humans would secure victory would betray the Frostwolves and cause the parlay to become an ambush. The Frostwolves would be brought to the Horde encampment and Durotan would be imprisoned. Soon after the Frostwolves would be destroyed with Durotan, Draka, Go'el, and a guilt driven Doomhammer the only known survivors.

Doomhammer would later free Durotan, who would knock him down with no protest. After agreeing to work with another Durotan would challenge Gul'dan to a mak'gora. Though evenly matched at first, as Durotan began to win Gul'dan would use fel magic to win. A furious Doomhammer and other orcs would call Gul'dan a cheater who had no respect for their ways and only by killing these dissidents would Gul'dan hold over the Horde remain secure. However Doomhammer would remain alive and Durotan's corpse would be placed as a warning to the other orcs.

Doomhammer would later take it down and take one of Durotan's tusks from his corpse in order to bring it to his son, Go'el.[7] With his chieftain dead, and the rest of the Horde in Gul'dan's sway, Doomhammer walked away into the forests of the Black Morass, as the other orcs charged to battle against the humans.[8]

Notes[]

  • Orgrim is nearly 7 feet tall.[9]
  • Unlike his main universe counterpart who was from Blackrock clan and the second-in-command of Blackhand, the movie Orgrim is from the Frostwolf clan and the second-in-command of Durotan.
    • As such, instead of his traditional black-plate armor, the film Orgrim wears the usual tribal clothing of the Frostwolf clan.
    • Unlike his main-universe counterpart, he is not green but remained brown.
  • At the movie's conclusion Doomhammer, along with Go'el, are the known Frostwolf survivors on Azeroth.
  • He is portrayed by Robert Kazinsky.

Quotes[]

  • "I am sorry, Durotan. I did not see how we could side with the humans against our own kind. I was wrong, my chief. Gul’dan’s fel magic is destroying us."[2]
