First Mate Fitzsimmons is a human quest giver located outside Deepwater Tavern in Menethil Harbor in the Alliance-aligned zone of the Wetlands. He was once First Mate on the Wave Mistress, a Kul Tiras ship that was destroyed by red dragons during the Second War. He is the sole survivor of the Lost Fleet, and now spends most of his time getting drunk outside the Deepwater Tavern. He also has a tendency of smelling quite bad.
He disappears once the 
[Eye of Paleth] is retrieved. While he originally was alive, Glorin Steelbrow reveals that he had drunk himself to death the year before the Cataclysm. His spirit still haunts the area, now and then appealing to adventurers to get the Eye. Steelbrow takes this as evidence that poor Fitzsimmons is cursed to roam the earth forever, damned by the tainted Eye. Not even dying as he did save him from the same fate as his crewmates.
