- Not to be confused with Flavor text.
Flavors are the versions or editions of World of Warcraft currently in distribution, including Classic and Retail. This community term alludes to "Vanilla" as a synonym for World of Warcraft: Classic, originating from BlizzCon 2017 when J. Allen Brack made an ice cream metaphor to announce the launch of Classic.[1] He repeated this joke the following year to announce the availability of vanilla ice cream in the concession stands.
“Now, before I get to the big news, I want to take a minute. And I want to talk about ice cream. Ice cream is great. Ice cream is one of my favorite desserts. Personally, I love chocolate, and I love cookies and cream. Cookies and cream is actually my all time favourite dessert. But I understand that for some people, your favourite flavor is Vanilla.”
