The Flowerpicker clan was an easter egg in Warcraft II: Beyond the Dark Portal.

History[]

WC2BnE-logo This section concerns content related to Warcraft II: Tides of Darkness or its expansion Beyond the Dark Portal.

"Flowerpicker clan" was the stored name for the blue orc (Player 2), but since the blue orc slot was never used in a campaign mission as an active player, the name never appeared in-game, though the text string for its title still appeared in the game's data files.

Indeed, unlike the clans in Warcraft II: Tides of Darkness, the Beyond the Dark Portal clan names only appeared in the single-player campaign, and not in custom games. Thus, while the unused Alliance and Horde teams in Tides of Darkness - the yellow team labeled "Horde Traitors" and "Alliance Traitors," respectively - were visible to players despite never appearing in the campaign, the unused blue Horde team's name never showed up without mining the datafiles.

In the mission Dance of the Laughing Skull, the Laughing Skull units produced by the Alliance Expedition are blue, the color of the Flowerpicker clan.

Mysterious Orc (Frostfire Ridge)

A "Mysterious Orc" during the Warlords of Draenor beta.

During the World of Warcraft: Warlords of Draenor beta, players could come across a Inv misc trailofflowers [Mysterious Flower] ("A mysterious flower from a mysterious orc") in all zones on Draenor. Interacting with it would elicit fearful responses from nearby Iron Horde mobs, and in some cases would cause a Mysterious Orc to spawn, stab a nearby Iron Horde mob and then vanish, with the dying soldier yelling "The legends are true"!. However, the flowers and related events were removed prior to the expansion's release.

Dragonflight[]

During the Kosh'harg questline, a gathering of all orcish clans in Durotar, the Mysterious Orc appears briefly and whispers "You saw nothing" before slipping a Mysterious Flower ("A beautiful cut flower. A small written note is attached to the the[sic] stem: "The legends are true." You don't remember picking this up.") into the adventurer's bags and disappearing.
