Should we continue the format like what was started with these kind of articles Shadowcraft Armor/Legacy (Legacy item stats) or completely abandon it? At least with Classic, the stats (dmg, armor, etc.) made sense unlike how variable it is now with BfA. 13:16, 26 June 2019 (UTC)

:I really think items need to be left to databases, considering how much Blizzard likes to update them all the time. Even though that shouldn't be the case with Classic, I'm doubtful of the usefulness to documenting them on the wiki. I think keep what we have certainly, and not necessarily abandon the idea, but just focus on other things besides item stats. --Pcj (T•) 13:20, 26 June 2019 (UTC)

::I don't know, feel like the stats still should be included but handled by the template itself instead of manually giving the information. Here is 2 cents: implement a level slider for itemtip to automatically generate the stats depending on the slider. It is just one way to knock that out of the way. 13:26, 26 June 2019 (UTC)

Forums: Village pump → Classic

World of Warcraft: Classic is coming this summer, yet we still haven't laid down about how Classic stuff should be handle. This forum will be the place to discuss about how Wowpedia should approach with dealing with WoW Classic.

How should we go about tagging things that is Classic only? For an example, First Aid on the main page is still listed but it is no longer on retail wow with Beefa. Should we do something similar to having inline tags, something like Warcraft III but for Classic at the top of Classic-only articles, etc.

See also Forum:Managing removed content and Forum:Classic WoW. Both discussions kinda ended nowhere so I decided to take many stuff in my own hands Xporc (talk) 15:34, 25 March 2019 (UTC)

Template:Patches

Should Classic be added to template Patches or should it get its own template? (like "Template:Classic patches", etc. similar to Warcraft III patches) — SurafbrovWowpedia administrator T / C 19:21, 14 May 2019 (UTC)

A classic section on Patches sound good :D Xporc (talk) 19:28, 14 May 2019 (UTC)
Unless they release a large number of patches for Classic in the future it should be on Patches IMO. Mrforesttroll (talk) 19:35, 14 May 2019 (UTC)
Well, so far two. A demo (1.13.0) and Beta (1.13.2); Personally expecting to see more in the future like a patch to start up the next phase, etc unless they'll work more like a "switch" (like patch 8.0.1 with the pre-cursor events and BfA release). I'll definitely be keeping an eye on it. Right now, it just doesn't make sense to include these two patches on the template because they're demo/beta related; well, besides the pre-release section. That is different and a legacy. — SurafbrovWowpedia administrator T / C 18:57, 22 May 2019 (UTC)

Templates:Elinks

The templates like Elinks-NPC, Elinks-item, etc. could really use the Wowhead Classic link. (Not sure if Wowdb will be coming out with a classic website.)

Instead of just adding the links to the templates straight up, maybe add a |classic= parameter to add the link if provided (it'll work like |doc=, but instead it'll show the information instead of hiding it). Obviously, the whole point of this is to only include the link on Classic articles and not articles introduced with any of the expansions. — SurafbrovWowpedia administrator T / C 19:38, 14 May 2019 (UTC)

I'm not sure this one is as much necessary, considering the user can simply click on the "Classic" option while on the wowhead website. Thoughts? Xporc (talk) 11:16, 15 May 2019 (UTC)
I doubt WoWDB will ever offer such an option. The website is still (mostly) functional, but I was told awhile back that for all intents and purposes that it's developmentally dead. Regarding Classic linking, I agree with Xporc and would also add that I doubt there'll be enough traffic originating from Wowpedia for it to be worthwhile. -- Alayea (talk / contrib) 19:24, 21 May 2019 (UTC)
Thanks for the comments. Seems fair enough to not include it. — SurafbrovWowpedia administrator T / C 18:57, 22 May 2019 (UTC)

API docs

How are the API docs going to be updated for Classic? It's based on the 8.1.0 api but there will be no api parity with Live and will likely keep diverging. I'd like to update it, but I don't know what would be the best approach without making an utter mess of it. [1] Ketho (talk) 01:23, 22 May 2019 (UTC)

Why would they diverge? That seems headache-inducing.... Anyway if the differences are significant they should probably be disambiguated on a separate page. --PcjWowpedia wiki manager (TDrop me a line!C207,729 contributions and counting) 18:51, 22 May 2019 (UTC)
Ditto. — SurafbrovWowpedia administrator T / C 18:57, 22 May 2019 (UTC)
The Blizzard UI devs responded on #wowuidev they were not going to maintain feature parity with retail and that it would most likely diverge. I put the classic api docs in a subpage, Events/Classic for example if that's a good way to do it. Ketho (talk) 21:09, 24 May 2019 (UTC)
Works for me. --PcjWowpedia wiki manager (TDrop me a line!C207,729 contributions and counting) 23:32, 24 May 2019 (UTC)

Starting a project

I've started a project at Wowpedia:Classic WoW project. I hope you will help me out getting this content sorted. --PcjWowpedia wiki manager (TDrop me a line!C207,729 contributions and counting) 01:19, 26 June 2019 (UTC)

Items Legacy stats
