Forums: Village pumpWarcraft games Profession advice needed for my warlock!

My lock's first profession is Tailoring. I used to do enchanting but i hated it (too much suffering). Right now I'm trying to decide whether her second profession be Skinning for Inv misc organ 01 [Master of Anatomy] or Mining for Ability toughness [Toughness]. I'm trying to run a lock with the first primary talent being Demonology and the second talent being Destruction. I already know toughness is good for Demonology because of the added stamina which contributes to survivability (which is what Demonology is known for) but skinning will help for more criticals in Destruction spellcasting. My main question really is, are the stat boosts significant? Is the added stamina really going to make a considerable difference for Demonology and added critical for Destruction? Or am I giving myself a headache over nothing?

From what I understand they plan to change the bonuses given from professions anyway... how so, I don't remember... if they had said exactly how. But professions don't make or break classes and they won't make a huge difference. Skinning works well with tailoring however, if you don't have a skinner and not willingly to pay the huge amounts of gold for skins to later make items that require them. As someone who had a Tailor/Skinner for a long time (over 300 in both) before I dropped Skinning, I would say the benefit that Skinning gives your Tailoring is minimal after 300 and probably before. I think Mining would be a better choice for making money. I switched my Tailor/Skinner to a Tailor/Jewelcrafter, because I had a Miner alt already. Jewelcrafting is a pretty good choice for casters due to the really good gems you get at higher levels. --Gengar orange 22x22Beware the sneaky smile! Fandyllic (talk · contr) 6:19 PM PST 22 Oct 2009
I see, thank you very much for your input both of you, it truly helped me decide! I think I'll go with a Tailor/Miner for now, and once I get another miner I'll change her to a Jeweler.

If you don't mind scrounging around for herbs, Inscription may very well be a worthwhile profession for a power mad warlock. More powerful spells and deadlier demonic minions never hurt anything.AhotahThunderhorn (talk) 23:52, October 26, 2009 (UTC)
